Valentine Books for Kids

Love,Splat by Rob ScottonSplat makes a special valentine for a special kitten in his class.  Will he give it to her?  She always looks at him funny, pulls his ears, pokes his belly, ties his tail and calls him smelly.  Plus, his card isn't the biggest or the best.  Splat learns that things aren't always as they seem and a valentine from the heart is the best one of all.  (Heidi)

Hands Say Love by George Shannon.  A sweet story that shares all the many ways  hands show they care. Sometimes the best way to say "I love you" is by helping. Lovely pictures and a great message. (Kristin)

The Valentine Bears by Eve Bunting  Mr. and Mrs. Bear have never celebrated Valentines Day because they are always hibernating during that holiday.  This year Mrs. Bear sets her alarm clock to wake up on February 14, to give Mr. Bear a valentine surprise.  He might have a surprise for her too.  Great illustrations by Jan Brett.
