Projects with Succulents

I love succulents!
Maybe its from growing up in the southwest.
The small size and thick, fleshy leaves = adorable.  Succulents come in different varieties and colors, are hearty, grow great in dry weather and are just so cute.
So, here are some sensational succulent projects for summer!

First up, follow this link for our {painted mason jars}.
Pick a fun summer color.  I used Americana Bahama Blue,
added a few rocks to the bottom, for drainage, then soil and the plant. This is going in my kitchen window.

We want to take care of these little beauties and you can find some good tips for planting and succulent care at {a Pair and a Spare}.  You can also get the 411 on planting and growing tips at Sproutabl (love their videos).

Build your own terrarium by following  {Kristin's terrarium} instructions and use succulents instead of plants.  {Floral Verde} has more terrarium ideas like the ones below.

Succulent inspired crafts, you bet!  Make paper succulents!
{Lia Griffith} has some great project ideas.  She uses a Cricut to cut the cactus leaves, but you can free-hand cut your own leaves.

Craftberry Bush has a tutorial for these amazing little pots of  paper succulents. They look like the real thing!

Love this----framed succulents that you can hang on your wall!
{Better Homes and Gardens} shows you step by step photos on how to build a frame and design your living picture.

How about the same project but with paper succulents!?

Look at this beautiful succulent wreath!  For those of you with a "green thumb" get the instructions at {Pretty Prudent}.  They even show you how easy it is to use succulent clippings for this project.

{Dwelling in Happiness} came up with this succulent topped pen.  She also has a nice idea for decorating your flower pot by glittering part of it.
Cute pot for the pens or real plants.

Aren't these amazing!? Fondant succulent cupcake toppers!
  Just bake chocolate cupcakes, top with frosting, crumbled Oreos, then add your edible succulent! Natalie has a great tutorial at {Craftaholics Anonymous}

Ok, succulent wedding bouquet?  Why not.  {Deer Pearl and Flowers} has some jaw dropping ideas for weddings.  From the bouquet, cake toppers, decorations and favors.

Speaking of favors, here's a idea for your next party
or use as a thank you
or give as a little gift "just because".
Wrap you mini pot right from the store in burlap.  I wrapped this pot with wide burlap ribbon.  Tie with lace or a fun ribbon.  Tuck in a tiny note.

Hope you're just as inspired as I was with these projects.
What have you created with succulents?
