Happy Groundhog Day!

Happy Groundhog Day everyone!  Have a little fun this year and celebrate this often overlooked holiday.  Its a great time to do something different and break out of a cold winter or the boredom of a school and work week.  We like to make these little groundhog pudding cups every year.  They are simple to make and yummy to share!

You will need:

Milano cookies, chocolate chips (shave off the tip to make a flat disc to glue), frosting tube in black, Oreo cookies (crushed up), and some pudding cups.  To make your groundhog, add frosting dots for your eyes and "glue" with frosting your chips for cheeks on a Milano cookie.  Add some crescent shapes on each side or the cookie with frosting for ears.  Place your cookie in your pudding cup and sprinkle Oreo crumbs around the top.  That's it!  Kids love to help!

Its also fun to print up some silly ground hog type games- I found several mazes, word searches, etc. off the internet.   Everyone gets a lollipop for finishing one!

We also like to guess each year what we think Punxsutawney Phil will predict- hopefully a short winter!  Those who choose correctly get to a special prize.

We have our own groundhog who lives in our backyard!  He hasn't stirred since he started his hibernation a few months ago.....we always hope he might make an appearance today!  His name is Maxwell, and we like to leave him some berries by his hole as a treat today.   They really are quite cute animals-
